The story of the Southeastern Virginia Chapter began on March 10, 2025, with a simple inquiry about membership in the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. That inquiry sparked a vision to bring together accomplished, committed women from across Southeastern Virginia to advocate for Black women and girls and create lasting impact throughout our communities.

On February 21, 2026, members of the Southeastern Virginia Chapter participated in mandatory National Technical Training at Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth, Virginia. Led by National Third Vice President Minnie Miller and Chair of Chapter Development Alicia Guyton, the training prepared members for chapter governance, elections, and the journey toward chartering.

On May 16, 2026, the Southeastern Virginia Chapter was officially chartered, marking the culmination of more than a year of vision, preparation, and collective effort. Eighty women became charter members, united by a shared commitment to advocacy, leadership, and service to Black women and girls throughout Southeastern Virginia.
With a strong foundation in place, the Southeastern Virginia Chapter moves forward with purpose and a shared commitment to meaningful impact. Together, we are advancing advocacy, developing leaders, and building a lasting legacy for Black women and girls throughout the communities we serve. Our history is still being written—and our story is just beginning.
